Long-term health risks
Many people do not know that moderate, long-term alcohol use (as low as one or two drinks per day) can lead to many types of cancers and serious health conditions.
Long-term health problems can happen if you drink too much alcohol over a long period of time. The amount of alcohol-related harm is linked to how much alcohol a person drinks on a regular basis. The more you drink every week, and the more times you drink too much on one occasion, the more likely you are to develop long-term health problems. You may not feel the impacts right away, but the more you drink, the greater the harm to your mind and body.
The good news is that you can reduce your risk of long-term harm to your body and mind by limiting how much alcohol you drink.
